We keep data collection minimal. This page describes what we collect, why, and who else is involved when you buy Ship Kit. It is written to be accurate to how the site and purchase actually work — not to a template.

1. The website

betterauth.app is a static marketing site. It does not set tracking cookies, does not run third-party advertising trackers, and does not require you to create an account to browse. The download links and CTAs are plain links.

Our hosting provider may process standard server logs (such as IP address and request metadata) to deliver and protect the site, as part of normal web operation.

2. When you buy

Checkout is handled by our merchant of record (MoR) and its payment processors. They — not us — collect and process your payment information. We do not see or store your full card number or wallet credentials. We receive from the MoR what we need to fulfill your order:

  • Your email address, to provision your license and repository access and to contact you about your purchase.
  • Order metadata (the product purchased, order ID, and country for tax purposes).
  • Your GitHub username or the email you use to accept the repository invitation, to grant access.

The MoR's own privacy terms govern how it handles your payment data; please review them at checkout.

3. Affiliates

If you arrive through an affiliate link, the affiliate platform records a first-touch attribution cookie so the referring partner can be credited for a sale. It identifies the referral, not you personally; see our affiliate program for how attribution works.

4. How we use your data

We use the data above only to:

  • Deliver your purchase and grant repository access.
  • Provide support and send purchase-related messages (such as access or refund notices).
  • Notify you of updates to the Kit, if you opt in.
  • Meet our legal and tax obligations.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it except with the providers needed to deliver your order (MoR, code-hosting, email).

5. Retention

We keep order and license records for as long as needed to provide access and meet tax and accounting requirements, then delete or anonymize them. You can ask us to delete data we are not legally required to keep.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, email hello@betterauth.app and we will respond within a reasonable time.

7. Changes

If this policy changes, the “last updated” date above will change with it. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
